A Little Bit of Inspiration?

I'm sorry, I don't have any freebie add-ons or QPs for you this week... I just hadn't the time to do any extra this week because of the flood (see previous post) but I was hoping to provide you with a little bit of inspiration for designing your own LOs with my kits...

Here's one I did today using my new kit, '1950s Reminiscence'

... and I'm thrilled to have received permission to show you this next LO created by my friend, Cee.  She created this using my kit, 'Party Time'.
(If you'd like to leave her some 'love', the image is linked to her Stuff to Scrap gallery.)

So, are you inspired yet?

You can download the kits I've created thus far for the Designer Darling Contest at the Stuff to Scrap Forum (look for the download links in the Designer Darling Competition section for the Designer Darling Weekly Challenges threads).

Until next time... Happy Scrapping!

My Kit for Week/Round 3 of the Designer Darling Contest

My basement was flooded on Monday (it's a finished basement - our family room) so the mess and clean-up (which is still going on) threw a BIG monkey wrench into my plans and time for working on the contest kit.... blah, blah, blah... (that's life, right?).   Anyway, my husband, being the extremely wonderful and supportive guy that he is, took on most of the clean-up work so I could continue with the contest.

So, YAY, I finally finished my kit for Week/Round 3 of the Designer Darling Contest and with only a couple of hours to spare!

We were given 4 photographs of a quilt that one of the judges is making and were told to create a kit based on whatever the photo inspired us to do.  Here's one of the photos:

I didn't have an idea right away but after looking it over for a bit I found that the fabric squares reminded me of the decor of the 1950s (not that I REMEMBER that time, LOL).  The muted colors, abstract yet symmetrical patterns, plaids, clean lines and basic shapes, etc., all said retro to me.  So, that's how I came up with this kit I call '1950s Reminiscence'.  I created everything in the kit myself but I worked the hardest on that telephone, which I did by hand.  Anyway, I'm happy with the results and I hope someone will be able to use something from here for their heritage scrapbooking.

To get the kit for FREE, you must be a member of Stuff to Scrap and then you can download it from the Designer Darling Contest threads in the forum.

Happy Scrapping!

Good News! and another Freebie mini kit for my Followers

I'll start off with my GOOD NEWS... I made it to the next round (week 3) of the Designer Darling Contest over at Stuff to Scrap!  WOOT!  I'm so excited.

This week we were not given a color palette to work with, instead we were given a photograph of a quilt; we're to do whatever the photograph inspires us to do.  I haven't come up with a theme yet but I've some thoughts floating around in my head.

It should be interesting to see what all the contestants come up with this time round so be sure to keep an eye on the Week 3 Challenge Previews thread over at the Stuff to Scrap forum so you can download the contributions as they come in (there's a photo of our inspiration quilt there also).

Now for your Freebie!  I created a mini kit to contribute to this month's Color Challenge hosted by Kim B. over at DSO (DigiScrap Obession).  I just love the color palette on this one.

And here's my contribution; it's called 'A Touch of Femininity':

If you like it, click on the preview image to download it (download expired).

And when you're finished, visit the DSO Gallery and check out the other contributions to this month's Color Challenge.

If you like my creations and have a moment, I'd love it if you left me a comment or sent me an email.

Bye for now and Happy Scrapping!

Freebie Addon to my kit 'Party Time'

Hello again!

Today, for you, I have a Freebie Addon to my kit 'Party Time'.  Here's what it looks like:

I know I said yesterday that the addon would have 7 papers but, well, uhm... I miscounted, sorry; it has only 6.  But that's still good, right?  It also has a few elements similar to what you'll find in the full kit.

To get the full kit for free (and the kits created by all the other contestants of the Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap) you'll have to be a member of Stuff to Scrap Forum (but membership is free!) and then you can use THIS LINK (link expired) to go directly to the thread containing the download links.

If you like my designs, I'd love to hear from you and I'd love your support with a vote in the polls at Stuff to Scrap, which should be opening sometime to day and be open until midnight (MST) tomorrow.

This round of the contest will have some eliminations... only 20 people will make it onto Week/Round 3.  We'll find out sometime on Sunday and I'm thinking that I won't be getting much sleep the next couple of nights in anticipation; please wish me luck!

Oh, I almost forgot... to download the Freebie Addon, just click on the image preview above.

My 'Party Time' Digital Scrapbooking Kit - Week/Round 2 of the Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap

I've created my 2nd digital scrapbooking kit for the Designer Darling Contest over at Stuff to Scrap:  'Party Time'

Here's a LO I created with it:

For this round of the contest we were restricted from using most all CU (Commercial Use) items and many of the tools that come with our digital-image-editing software programs and asked to get creative... use our cameras, scanners, etc. and show the judges what we can do ourselves.  It was difficult for me getting started, but once I got going I enjoyed it immensely!

This means that my kit is a unique, one-of-a-kind creation... and I think that's pretty cool!

Here's the preview to my kit:

You can get the kit FREE (along with the other contest entries) in the Stuff to Scrap Forum - you'll need to be a member though.

NOT a member of Stuff to Scrap Forum yet?  Well, what are you waiting for - who doesn't want free digital scrapbooking kits?

Also, as a member, you can vote for your favorites in the contest (... and I'd LOVE to have your vote); the voting polls should open in the forum sometime on Friday morning (Jan. 22nd).

Well, that's all for now.  I'll have some add-on items for this kit available free here, from my blog, soon (maybe tomorrow) - 7 more papers that I created from scratch but decided not to include in the final kit and a few more elements (more of the same ones that are in the kit but of different colors).  So, if you're interested, come back and visit me here.

Happy Scrapping!

Round 2 - Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap

Well, Round 2 of the Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap started today and, for me, it's going to be a tough one I think.  Here's the color palette we were given to work with:

I'm not sure WHAT to do with it but whatever I come up with I'll give it my best try.

So, if you're following me, or you're following the contest, watch the Stuff to Scrap Forums  this week for the links to the contestants' contributions (you'll need to be a member to access this site).  And whether or not you're a member at Stuff to Scrap, you can always Preview the kits in the Stuff to Scrap Gallery, in fact you can still see the contributions to Round 1 there now; look for the gallery titled 'Designer Darling Competition Kit Previews'.

I wasn't sure I'd get this finished today but turns out I did - I have a Freebie Add-on to my 'An Eclectic Blend' kit.

Here's the preview:

Click on the preview to download.

The Voting Polls are officially open (I'm not sure when they close, perhaps sometime on Saturday evening - MST Time).  If you're registered at Stuff to Scrap, here's the link to the Polls: Link Expired

OK, I think I'll be taking SOME a break from designing this weekend so I can spend some time with my family... 'see' you next week!
