ChocoMelt Wordart Freebie

I mentioned in an earlier post that the ADSR5 Challenge No.5 required the use of chocolate in some form or another.  Well, although I have already finished my LO for that challenge, the theme had me wondering how I might go about creating a melting, chocolate alpha.  I played around with it a bit and although I didn't create a full alpha, I did create this fun wordart element.

Perhaps most of the racers are finished with their Challenge No.5 but if not, maybe they can incorporate this in their LO in some way.

To download this Freebie ChocoMelt Wordart element, just click on the preview (download expired).

And, 'Who knows?'... depending upon the popularity of this, I might be inspired enough to go ahead and create the full alpha.

Happy Scrapping Everyone!

ADSR5 Challenge 5 LOs and ? A Future Freebie ?

Challenge 5 of the ADSR5, hosted by Pretty Scrappy, was posted this past Sunday.  We were given a scrapping 'recipe' to follow which include a list of 10 items.  We were asked to scrap a LO using at least 6 of the items and to include Chocolate in some form or another.

Here's my partner Cee's LO - I love her use of the color pink (if you'd like to leave her some comments, click on the image and you'll be taken to it within the NDISB Gallery):

And here's my LO - I had a bit of fun with mine; if you're having difficulty reading the journaling included in my LO, click on the image and you'll be linked to it in the NDISB Gallery where you'll be able to read it in the description.

We'll be receiving another Challenge tomorrow which will be due by this coming Sunday and when I'm not working on the challenges for the ADSR5, I'm working on more freebies for my Blog readers.  I hope to have a freebie mini kit by the end of the month; it'll be a contribution to the Color Challenge over at the Digital Scrapbooking Studio.  This month's challenge has a freebie mini by Monika Designs for those who want to participate by creating a LO.  Go check it out!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

ADSR5 Challenge 4 - A Combined ATC LO

Challenge 4 of the ADSR5, hosted by Digitals, required that we each create to ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), one to be a valentine for someone we love and the other to honor our partner in the ADSR5.  We were then to combine all 4 and present it in one image file.

Here's what we created.  Images 2 & 4 are by my partner, Cee and I created images 1 & 3 - if you wish to know what designer products we used, please visit the image in the NDISB Gallery for ADSR5.4.

Thanks for looking and Happy Scrapping!

Cute Little Ones - Freebie kit

I'm loving this designing thing!

Here's my latest creation - a kit created as a contribution to the DSO Color Challenge hosted by KimB.  It's called 'Cute Little Ones' and KimB's posting bonus for the challenge was my inspiration for it.

Thanks for your interest in my stuff and Happy Scrapping!

ADSR5 Challenge 3 - Layouts by Cee and Me

Well, my partner and I were rather quick with the 3rd Challenge of the ADSR5.  We received the challenge rules yesterday from Scrappers Online and, with a bit of back and forth support, we both managed to finish and post our LOs today.

The 3 basic rules for this round were:
  1. Have one focal photo using selective coloring
  2. Include journaling of at least 20 words, using selective highlights within
  3. Use at least 1 date element
My partner, Cee, created this one of her son making pancakes last year on Shrove Tuesday.

And I created this one in memory of my son Evan.

If you feel inspired to leave Cee and I some nice comments, you can do that here or in the galleries in which they are posted; just click on the images above to go there.

Happy Scrapping!

Digital Scrapbooking Date Tag Set - Freebie

Since there is a need to use Date Elements in the 3rd Challenge of the ADSR5, I thought I'd give a try at designing one.  Here's what I came up with (for your PU/S4O/S4H purposes):

Valentine's Day Blog Freebie

Being as today is Valentine's Day, I thought I'd have a little give-away for my blog followers and anyone else who just happens to discover me here in cyber-space.

The FREEBIE is a simple group of 3 CU Valentine Hearts; 1 purple, 1 red (of course) and 1 grayscale, so you can make it any color you want.

Click on the Image to Download (download expired).

I hope you like them and if you do, I won't mind (wink, wink) if you want to leave me some nice comments.  :-)

The ADSR5 Challenge 3 has been posted today and I'll be busy with that and Challenge 4 (being posted on Tuesday) for the next few days but I'm also hoping to squeeze in another freebie mini kit in that time.  I've been making progress on my contribution to KimB's Color Challenge at DSO (I used the preview of her posting bonus mini kit as my inspiration) so I should have that available for you sometime this week.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

ADSR5 Challenge 2 LOs

The theme (or recipe) for our 2nd Challenge of ADSR5 is the number '5'.  We were required to scrap about '5' things we love about .... (and fill in the blank) and include the following:
  • 5 photos
  • A Title using a combination of 5 alphas and fonts
  • 5 of any one type of element but all different from one another
  • Anything else we wanted to add to the LO
I scrapped about the '5 Things I Love About My Kitchen' (it's linked to the NDISB Gallery should you want to leave me any comments):
And my ADSR5 partner, Cee, scrapped about 5 of her hobbies (also linked to the NDISB Gallery):

Now we have a break until the next challenge is announced on Sunday the 14th and I'm going to use the time between now and then to dabble a bit with designing; I'd like to make a contribution to KimB's Color Challenge over at DSO's Challenge Blog... we'll see what I have time for.

Oh, I just realized, the next challenge comes out on Valentine's Day... hmmm, maybe I can have a little freebie to give out on that day....

Till next time,
Happy Scrapping!

ADSR5 Challenge 1 - My Partner's LO

I'm back (2nd time in one day).  This time to show you the LO my partner, Cee, created for the ADSR5 Challenge 1.

I mentioned earlier that our first challenge had to be about our partner and we were required to scraplift a LO previously done by our partner.  Cee chose a LO of mine that I did when I was only 2 months into digi-scrapping but one that remains a favorite of mine, a LO about my Great Aunt May

Cee's LO for the challenge was about my Memorable Event on my 20th Wedding Anniversary and since I just love anything 'heritage', she gave it an 'old heritage' feel.  Isn't it lovely?

Her LO is linked to the NDISB Gallery, so if you like it, head on over and leave her some nice comments.

That's it for today.  We receive our next Challenge of week 1 on Tuesday.

Happy Scrapping!

ADSR5 Challenge 1 - My Layout (LO)

Well the race has begun... the Amazing Digi Scrapping Race 5 (ADSR5) that is.  Learn more about it over at Natural Designs In ScrapBooking (NDISB), they are the founder and central hosting forum of the race.

NDISB also happens to be the host of the first challenge of the race, in which we were required to do a LO of our partner.  It had to include a photo and, to quote the challenge rules,
The only rule is, the layout is about your partner and you need to tell us something about them.
Additionally, our LOs were required to be a scraplift of a LO of our choice from our partner's gallery.

So, my partner, Cee, and I decided we'd tell about a Memorable event in our lives.  I scrapped about her and her sisters being presented to the Duke of Edinburgh for their achievements in the Guide Movement and The Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

I chose this one of Cee's LOs to scraplift (it's linked to her NDISB gallery, should you care to visit and leave her some nice comments):
And here's the LO I created of Cee's Memorable Event (this too is linked to the NDISB gallery):

This was fun and I'm enjoying do a bit of scrapping again.

Thanks for visiting and Happy Scrapping!

The Designer Darling Contest and the ADSR5

The Finalists in the Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap have been announced!  You can see the list of everyone who made the cut  and leave some 'congratulation' messages here:  http://digi-designs.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ddcchallenges&action=display&thread=4563

Alas, I am not on the list of Finalists!  But it's OK, truly.  I learned a few things and I'm sure I'll still be dabbling in the designing side of the Digital Scrapbooking world again before too long.

For now, I'm glad to get a much needed rest... I really didn't sleep well the past 4 weeks with all that needed to be done for the contest and balancing 'real life' too.  Besides, I missed designing LOs and since I've joined the ADSR5, I'll now have more time for that.

As I mentioned, I'm really tired from lack of sleep so I won't be explaining what ADSR5 is right now, but you can go here at NDISB to learn more about it if you like.

I've teamed up to race with a wonderful woman, her name is Cee.  I think maybe we were destined to 'meet' in the cyber-world; we have much in common and I'm sure we're going to have a lot of fun doing the challenges together.

If you want to follow us, we are Team #129 and our Team name is 'Special Roses Across the Ocean'.  Here's our Team blinkie:

Signing off for now... I'm starting to drowse at the keyboard!  :-)

Happy Scrapping!

My Contest Entry for the Designer Darling Contest a Day Early

Well, to any of you who may be watching my blog to learn of my progress with the Designer Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap, my apologies for not posting sooner than now.  Life is just a bit busy at the moment.

This week's contest assignment did not involve creating a scrapbooking kit, instead, we were asked to create 3 of our own resources, that is, 3 elements/embellishments.  We were required to either photograph or scan these items and then carefully extract the background from the images.  We were also asked to be 'creative' and well, that's one word I always get stuck on... but I think I did OK.  I'm happy with my results.

I think the 3 elements I created would be great for use in a formal or special occasion LOs, like a wedding, anniversary, graduation, etc.  What do you think?

If you want to download these elements to add to your own digital scrapbooking collection, head on over to the Stuff to Scrap forum; the download links are in the Designer Darling Competition section in the Week4: Challenge Preview thread.

And if you want to leave me a comment, you can do that in the Designer Darling Challenge Gallery.

The judges over at Stuff to Scrap have a lot of work to do looking over all the contestants' entries and some tough decisions to make too as this week there will be eliminations; only 10 contestants will continue on to the final 2-week round.  I don't envy the situation of the judges but I sure do appreciate all their efforts.  They've been great at guiding us all along with tutorials and suggestions for improving our work; kudos to them all!

We find out on Sunday night (February 7th) who goes and who stays... so please, wish me luck!

Happy Scrapping!
